Product Description
The IBM AGLE (feature code AGLE) is an LTO Ultrium 10 full-high Fibre Channel tape drive. It is ordered for the IBM TS4300 Tape Library, machine type 5544, models L8A and E8A. LTO-10 cartridges store 30 TB native and up to 75 TB compressed (2.5:1). On machine type 5544, LTO-10 PA media stores 40 TB native and up to 100 TB compressed (2.5:1). Native data rate on the full-high drive is up to 400 MB/s. The 5544 library uses 32 Gb Fibre Channel attachment for LTO-10. Feature AGLC is the related LTO-9 full-high Fibre Channel drive.
The machine type for this drive is 5544, not 3544.

Compatibility
The IBM AGLE LTO-10 Full-High Fibre Channel Tape Drive is compatible with:
- Libraries: IBM TS4300 Tape Library with Expert Care, 5544-L8A base module and 5544-E8A expansion module
- Drive mix: One full-high drive uses two half-high slots. A module can hold one full-high drive plus one half-high drive, or three half-high drives
- Older libraries: Machine type 3555 supports LTO-10 only when that library is qualified for the LTO-10 update. Libraries purchased in 2026 on machine type 3555 are not the LTO-10 target
- Hosts: IBM Power Systems with a supported Fibre Channel adapter, and other hosts with a supported FC HBA. IBM i LTO-10 support requires IBM i 7.4 or later
- Media: LTO-10 data cartridges, including LTO-10 PA media on machine type 5544. Use a universal Ultrium cleaning cartridge
- Limitations: Not a stand-alone drive. Does not fit TS3100 or TS3200 libraries. Fibre Channel cables are ordered separately. Confirm library firmware and host adapter support before install
