Product Description

The IBM 8542 (feature code 8542, machine type 3576-8542) is a full-high LTO Ultrium 8 tape drive with an 8 Gbps Fibre Channel interface. It installs in the IBM TS3310 Tape Library (3576-L5B base and 3576-E9U expansion modules). The drive writes LTO-8 cartridges at 12 TB native capacity and up to 30 TB compressed (2.5:1). Native data transfer rate is up to 360 MB/s. It writes and reads LTO-8 and LTO-7 cartridges and supports Type M media initialization on LTO-7 cartridges. The drive supports hardware AES-256 encryption, WORM media, and LTFS.
