    IBM 9043 MRU E1150 AIX Power11 Servers

    The IBM Power E1150 (9043-MRU) Power11 server is a 4U midrange enterprise system for AIX and Linux. It supports two to four Power11 processor modules, up to 120 cores, 16 TB of memory, and internal NVMe storage.

    The E1150 is an AIX and Linux platform. IBM i is not supported. PowerVM, Transparent Memory Encryption, quantum-safe cryptography, and in-core Matrix Math Accelerator (MMA) capabilities are part of the Power11 design. Serial-number-preserving upgrades from supported Power10 systems are available.

    Compatibility

    The IBM Power E1150 9043-MRU AIX servers are compatible with:

    • Operating systems: AIX 7.3 with supported TLs and service packs. AIX 7.2 with supported TLs in Power9 compatibility mode. Linux on Power at supported levels
    • Not supported: IBM i
    • Minimum AIX with virtual I/O: AIX 7.3 TL 7300-02 or AIX 7.3 TL 7300-03 at the supported service pack
    • Minimum AIX with direct I/O: AIX 7.3 TL 7300-02 SP4, AIX 7.3 TL 7300-03 SP1, or AIX 7.2 TL 7200-05 SP10
    • Storage: Enterprise NVMe U.2 modules for AIX/Linux and supported drawers
    • Networking: PCIe Ethernet and Fibre Channel adapters
    • Limitations: IBM i is not supported on 9043-MRU. Processor modules cannot be mixed. AIX 7.2 LPARs run in Power9 compatibility mode. Match firmware, HMC level, and AIX TL/SP to the processor feature
