The IBM ALB5 (feature code ALB5) supplies a matched pair of 32 Gb FC 2-port adapter cards for the IBM FlashSystem 5200 (machine type 4662, models 6H2 and UH6). Each adapter delivers dual 32 Gbps Fibre Channel ports with shortwave SFP transceivers, enabling high-bandwidth connectivity to hosts, switches, and other storage systems. The ports auto-negotiate to 16 Gbps or 8 Gbps for compatibility with existing Fibre Channel infrastructure. These adapters are the updated replacement for the earlier ALBK feature and are ideal for high-performance environments that require reliable, redundant Fibre Channel connectivity, including IBM Power Systems workloads.
