The IBM ALB3 (feature code ALB3) supplies a matched pair of 16 Gb FC 4-port adapter cards for the IBM FlashSystem 5200 (machine type 4662, models 6H2 and UH6). Each adapter delivers four 16 Gbps Fibre Channel ports with shortwave SFP transceivers, enabling high-bandwidth connectivity to hosts, switches, and other storage systems. The ports support auto-negotiation for compatibility with existing Fibre Channel infrastructure. These adapters are the updated replacement for the earlier ALBJ feature and are ideal for environments that require reliable, redundant 16 Gb Fibre Channel connectivity, including IBM Power Systems workloads.
