Product Description
The IBM AGKP (feature code AGKP, part number 00GH814) is an LTO Ultrium 8 full-high tape drive with an 8 Gb Fibre Channel interface. It installs in an IBM TS4300 Tape Library, machine type 3555, models L3A and E3A. The drive writes LTO-8 cartridges at 12 TB native and up to 30 TB compressed (2.5:1). Native data rate on the full-high drive is up to 360 MB/s. It reads and writes LTO-7 cartridges. Uninitialized LTO-7 media can be formatted as Type M (M8) at 9 TB native and up to 22.5 TB compressed. Feature AGKM is the related half-high 8 Gb Fibre Channel LTO-8 drive. Feature AGKN is the related half-high 6 Gb SAS LTO-8 drive.

Compatibility
The IBM AGKP LTO-8 Full-High Fibre Channel Tape Drive is compatible with:
- Libraries: IBM TS4300 Tape Library 3555-L3A base module and 3555-E3A expansion module. The same feature is also used in TS4300 Expert Care libraries 5544-L8A and 5544-E8A
- Drive mix: One full-high drive uses two half-high slots. A module can hold one full-high drive plus one half-high drive, or three half-high drives
- Hosts: IBM Power Systems with a supported Fibre Channel adapter, and other hosts with a supported 8 Gb FC HBA
- Software: IBM i, AIX, and Linux backup applications that support LTO-8 in a TS4300
- Media: LTO-8 and LTO-7 data cartridges. Uninitialized LTO-7 cartridges for Type M format. Use a universal Ultrium cleaning cartridge
- Limitations: Library drive for TS4300 only. Does not fit TS2900, TS3100, or TS3200 libraries. Does not read LTO-6 or earlier cartridges. Fibre Channel cables are ordered separately. Confirm library firmware and host adapter support before install
