The IBM 5776 PCI-X Disk Controller provides a PCI-X SCSI disk controller with 90 MB of write cache. It supports RAID-5 and RAID-6 protection of disk units. The adapter has two Ultra320 SCSI buses, each with a bus data rate of up to 320 MB/s. It supports a maximum of 12 internal disk drives and up to two internal removable media devices (tape, DVD-ROM, or DVD-RAM). A minimum of three disk drives is required for RAID-5. A minimum of four disk drives is required for RAID-6. Feature codes 0648, 5737, and 5776 are physically the same adapter card; the different feature numbers indicate to configuration tools whether an IOP is used. The 5776 is the IOP-less version. The CCIN is 571B.
