The IBM 5727 is an integrated cache feature that adds 40 MB of write cache and enables RAID-5 for internal disk drives on supported Power Systems servers.
Product Description
The IBM 5727 Integrated Cache augments the base integrated disk controller on models 515, 520, 525, or 550 with 40 MB of write cache. It also enables RAID-5 capability for the internal disk drives of the system unit. This feature is functionally equivalent to feature 5709 but can run in IOP-less mode. The 5727 installs into its own specific internal slot and does not require a PCI slot. A minimum of three disk units is required for a RAID-5 disk array. The CCIN is 573D.
