The IBM ESNQ (feature code ESNQ, part number 01LU584, CCIN 5B47) is a 571 GB 15K RPM SAS disk drive on a Gen-2 SFF-2 carrier. It ships formatted with 4K (4224-byte) sectors. If reformatted to 4096-byte sectors, usable capacity is 600 GB. The drive includes a 256 MB DRAM cache that can improve performance compared with earlier non-cached disk drives. Feature ESNR is the physically related AIX/Linux version.

- Systems / drawers: IBM POWER8 and POWER9 systems with available SFF-2 SAS bays, including EXP24SX expansion drawers
- Environments: IBM i
- Array rules: Can be combined with non-cached drives of the same capacity and sector size. Cannot be mixed in the same array with a same-capacity drive using a different sector size
- Limitations: Fits only SFF-2 bays. Not supported in the EXP24S drawer (#5887 or #EL1S). Does not fit POWER8/POWER9 system-unit SFF-3 bays or older SFF-1 drawers. Verify firmware levels and population rules via IBM documentation.
