FlashCore Module Description
The IBM ADSL (feature code ADSL) is a 26.4 TB raw FlashCore Module 5 (FCM5) Large module. It uses an NVMe EDSFF E3 form factor and includes hardware-accelerated data reduction, always-on AES-256 encryption, and computational storage assists for ransomware threat detection. IBM rates FCM5 26.4 TB modules at 134.4 TB effective capacity and 1 DWPD endurance. Large FCM5 modules provide higher read and write bandwidth than the 6.6 TB and 13.2 TB points. Feature ADSJ, ADSK, and ADSM are the 6.6 TB, 13.2 TB, and 52.8 TB FCM5 modules in the same family.

The IBM ADSL 26.4TB FlashCore Module 5 is compatible with:
- Systems: IBM FlashSystem 5600 (5127-A20, 1U, 12 EDSFF bays), IBM FlashSystem 7600 (5075, 2U, 32 EDSFF bays), and IBM FlashSystem 9600 (5078, 2U, 32 EDSFF bays)
- Software: IBM Storage Virtualize on the supported enclosure
- Related modules: ADSJ (6.6 TB), ADSK (13.2 TB), and ADSM (52.8 TB) are the other FCM5 features in this family. FlashSystem 9600 also supports the 105.6 TB FCM5 XXL point
- Array rules: All drives in an array must be the same type and capacity. Full FCM5 functions require an all-FCM5 array and supported firmware
- Limitations: Fits supported FlashSystem EDSFF FCM5 bays only. Does not fit U.2 FCM2/FCM3/FCM4 bays, SAS SFF bays, or IBM Power Systems SAS/NVMe U.2 server bays. Confirm firmware level and population rules before install
