The IBM AES8 (feature code AES8, part number 03GH472) is a 38.4 TB usable FlashCore Module 2 (FCM2). It uses the NVMe interface in a 2.5-inch, 15 mm form factor and includes hardware-accelerated inline compression and always-on AES-256 encryption. IBM rates FCM2 38.4 TB modules at 87.96 TB effective capacity. Feature AES5, AES6, and AES7 are the 4.8 TB, 9.6 TB, and 19.2 TB FCM2 modules for the same FlashSystem 5100 family. Feature ADS8 is the related 38.4 TB FCM2 feature for FlashSystem 7200. Feature AGS8 is the related 38.4 TB FCM2 feature for FlashSystem 5200.

- Array rules: All drives in an array must be the same type and capacity
- Limitations: Fits supported FlashSystem NVMe FCM bays only. Does not fit SAS SFF bays or IBM Power Systems SAS/NVMe U.2 server bays. Empty NVMe slots require a drive blank. Confirm firmware level and population rules before install
