The IBM FlashSystem 5045 SFF Control Enclosure (4680-3P4) is a 2U rack-mount system featuring two node canisters (dual-controller architecture), each with a six-core processor, and 24 front-loading SFF drive bays. It supports high-performance SAS and NVMe-compatible Flash devices with advanced data services. The system runs IBM Storage Virtualize software and includes enterprise features such as Safeguarded Copy, Easy Tier, FlashCopy snapshots, remote mirroring, Distributed RAID, data reduction pools, and encryption as standard. It offers higher performance than the FlashSystem 5015 while remaining an affordable, scalable solution for midrange workloads.
