The IBM ESDB (feature code ESDB, part number 00E9912, CCIN 59E0) is a 300 GB 15,000 rpm SAS disk drive mounted on a Generation-3 (SFF-3) 2.5-inch carrier. It is formatted with 512-byte sectors for AIX and Linux. If reformatted to 528-byte sectors, usable capacity is 283 GB. The drive is supported in SFF-3 SAS bays in POWER8 system units. Feature ESDA is the physically related IBM i version of this 15K SFF-3 family.
