The IBM ESDA (feature code ESDA, part number 00E9906, CCIN 59E0) is a 283 GB 15,000 rpm SAS disk drive mounted on a Generation-3 (SFF-3) 2.5-inch carrier. It is formatted with 528-byte sectors for IBM i. If reformatted to 512-byte sectors, capacity would be 300 GB; IBM i does not support 512-byte sectors. The drive is supported in SFF-3 SAS bays in POWER8 system units.
