The IBM ECT4 (feature code ECT4) is an Enterprise 1.6 TB PCIe4 NVMe U.2 module optimized for native IBM i use. It provides fast, reliable storage with enterprise-grade endurance and is formatted with the sector size required for IBM i. This drive is ideal for load source, database, and application storage on Power11 systems (including the S1112) as well as supported Power10 and earlier systems with the appropriate Technology Refresh levels. As an Enterprise drive, it offers higher write endurance than Mainstream SSDs, making it suitable for mixed and write-intensive IBM i environments. Mirroring is required for data protection in IBM i configurations.
