The IBM EJ2B (feature code EJ2B, part number 03MT000, CCIN 57F2) is a PCIe Gen3 x8 adapter with four mini-SAS HD ports for external SAS tape attachment. Each port supports 12 Gb/s SAS. The adapter attaches up to four SAS tape drives. Feature EJ2B is the full-height version. Feature EJ2C is the same adapter in low-profile form factor. SAS disk attachment is not supported. The adapter does not have write cache.

- Tape: External SAS LTO tape drives such as TS2270, TS2280, TS2290, and library drives in TS2900, TS3100, TS3200, and TS4300. Maximum of four tape drives per adapter
- Cables: AE1 or AA12 SAS cables ordered separately
- Limitations: Tape only. Does not support SAS disk. Requires a full-height slot. Use EJ2C for low-profile slots. Confirm slot priority and maximum adapter count for the system
