The IBM ADSE (feature code ADSE, part number 03JK992) is a 4.8 TB usable FlashCore Module 4 (FCM4). It uses a PCIe Gen4 NVMe interface in a 2.5-inch, 15 mm form factor and includes hardware-accelerated inline compression and always-on AES-256 encryption. IBM rates FCM4 4.8 TB modules at 21.99 TB effective capacity and 1 DWPD endurance. FCM4 modules add computational storage assists for real-time ransomware threat detection. Feature AGSE is the related 4.8 TB FCM4 feature for FlashSystem 5300. Feature AHSE is the related 4.8 TB FCM4 feature for FlashSystem 9500.

- Related modules: AGSE (FlashSystem 5300) and AHSE (FlashSystem 9500) are the 4.8 TB FCM4 features for those platforms
- Array rules: All drives in an array must be the same type and capacity. Full FCM4 functions require an all-FCM4 array and supported firmware
- Limitations: Fits supported FlashSystem NVMe FCM bays only. Does not fit SAS SFF bays or IBM Power Systems SAS/NVMe U.2 server bays. Empty NVMe slots require a drive blank. Confirm firmware level and population rules before install
