These drives are fully qualified for AIX and IBM i workloads on models including S814 (8286-41A), S822 (8284-22A), S824 (8286-42A), E870/E880 (9119-MME/MHE), and related servers. SAS HDDs provide cost-effective capacity for transactional, journaling, and archival data, while enterprise-grade SAS SSDs deliver dramatically higher IOPS, lower latency, and better endurance for virtualization, ERP, databases, and high-concurrency applications. All drives feature hot-swap capability, RAID/mirroring support via integrated controllers or VIOS, and native compatibility with AIX 7.1+ and IBM i 7.1+ (with appropriate PTFs for newer SSDs).
