    IBM i Compatibility

    IBM i rules can change by model. The S1012 1-core and 4-core builds stay in the P05 software tier. IBM i memory on that P05 path is capped at 64 GB. The 8-core S1012 moves to P10. Always check firmware and IBM i support for the exact feature codes.

    Many IBM i shops still run Power8 or Power9 servers. Power10 helps you keep the same apps. You move to faster cores, memory encryption, and NVMe flash.
