The IBM ES91 (feature code ES91, part number 00LY333, CCIN 5B13) is a 387 GB SAS solid-state drive using eMLC4 flash and formatted with 4K (4224-byte) sectors. It is mounted on an SFF-3 carrier for installation in POWER8 and POWER9 system-unit SAS bays. Feature ES90 is the physically related AIX/Linux version. Feature ES8P is a physically related IBM i feature for this same 4K SFF-3 family.

- Limitations: Fits only SFF-3 bays. Does not fit EXP24S / EXP24SX (SFF-2) drawers or older SFF-1 bays. Cannot be mixed in the same array with 5xx-byte sector drives. Cannot be reformatted to 5xx-byte sectors. Older PCIe2 and earlier SAS adapters do not support 4K drives. Verify firmware levels and population rules via IBM documentation.
