Product Description of IBM Power9 ESNG
The IBM ESNG (feature code ESNG, part number 00LY335, CCIN 5B15) is a 1.55 TB Enterprise SAS solid-state drive formatted with 4K (4224-byte) sectors. It is mounted on an SFF-3 carrier for installation in POWER8 and POWER9 system-unit SAS bays. This high-endurance enterprise SSD is rated at 10 Drive Writes Per Day (DWPD) over a five-year period and delivers strong performance for AIX, Linux, and VIOS workloads. Feature ESGR is a physically related AIX/Linux feature for this same 4K SFF-3 family. Feature ESNH is the physically related IBM i version.

- Limitations: Fits only SFF-3 bays. Does not fit EXP24S / EXP24SX (SFF-2) drawers or older SFF-1 bays. Cannot be mixed in the same array with 5xx-byte sector drives. Older PCIe2 and earlier SAS adapters do not support 4K drives. Verify firmware levels and population rules via IBM documentation.
