IBM Power9 HDD, SSD & NVMe Drives – SAS & PCIe Storage for AIX & IBM i

IBM Power9 systems provide a modern, high-performance storage ecosystem for AIX and IBM i workloads, supporting SAS HDDs, enterprise SAS SSDs, and native PCIe NVMe SSDs (via U.2 direct-attach in G-models or dedicated PCIe adapters). Models such as S914 (9009-41A), S922 (9009-22A/22G), S924 (9009-42A/42G), E950, and E980 feature hot-swap SFF-3 (2.5-inch) SAS bays (8–18 internal typical) and EXP24SX expansion drawers. SAS HDDs deliver cost-effective capacity for transactional and archival data, SAS SSDs offer high IOPS and low latency for virtualization/databases, and NVMe SSDs provide ultra-low-latency flash storage (sub-100 μs) for the most demanding applications. All drives support hot-swap, RAID/mirroring (native or VIOS), and are fully qualified for AIX 7.2+ and IBM i 7.3+ / 7.4+ (with NVMe requiring IBM i 7.4 TR1+ or later).
