PCIe Gen4 I/O Expansion Drawer
The PCIe Gen4 I/O Expansion Drawer (#ENZ0) is a 4U high, 19-inch wide, PCIe Gen4 based rack mountable I/O drawer that is available as a feature of Power11 Servers.
The PCIe Gen4 I/O Expansion Drawer (#ENZ0) replaces the PCIe Gen3 I/O Expansion Drawer (#EMX0). There is no upgrade path from PCIe Gen3 I/O Expansion Drawer (#EMX0) to PCIe Gen4 I/O Expansion Drawer (#ENZ0).
The PCIe Gen4 FanOut Module (#ENZF) is the fan out module (FOM) for placement in PCIe Gen4 I/O Expansion Drawer (#ENZ0). Each FOM provides six PCIe Gen4 slots (4 x16 & 2 x8) slots. All six slots, including the x8 slots, use x16 connectors. A fully populated PCIe Gen4 I/O Expansion Drawer (#ENZ0) with two PCIe Gen4 FanOut Module (#ENZF) provides twelve PCIe Gen4 slots (8 x16 & 4 x8). Each PCIe Gen4 FOM (#ENZF) only connects to PCIe x16 to CXP Converter Card features #EJ24 or #EJ2A.
For Power S1124 server a cable pair attaches the PCIe Cable Adapter (#EJ2A) to the fanout module. Feature ECLX provides a pair of 3-meter optical cables with transceivers. Feature ECLY provides a pair of 10-meter optical cables with transceivers. Feature ECLS provides a pair of 3-meter copper cables. Two cables of identical length, or one feature, is required for each fanout module. Optical cables are smaller diameter and more flexible and can be longer than the copper cables. Copper cables are lower cost. Copper and optical cables have the same performance and reliability characteristics.
NED24 NVMe Expansion Drawer
The NED24 NVMe Expansion Drawer (#ESR0) is a storage expansion enclosure with 24 U.2 NVMe bays. It supports up to 24 U.2 NVMe devices in 15 mm Gen3 carriers. The 15 mm carriers can accommodate either 7 mm or 15 mm NVME devices.
Each NED24 NVMe Expansion Drawer contains two redundant AC power supplies. The AC power supplies are part of the enclosure base.
The NED24 NVMe Expansion Drawer is connected to a Power server through dual CXP Converter adapters (#EJ24 or #EJ2A). A cable pair attaches the PCIe Cable Adapter (#EJ2A) to the fanout module. The following U.2 NVMe devices are supported in the NED24 NVMe Expansion Drawer:
