The IBM 3572-S9H TS2900 Tape Autoloader provides a compact, efficient solution for data backup and long-term archiving. This 1U rack-mount or standalone unit integrates a single LTO Ultrium 9 half-high SAS drive, delivering high capacity, strong performance, and reliable operation for entry-level to midrange environments with growing storage demands.
With nine cartridge slots in a removable magazine (single I/O station), the TS2900 supports up to 216 TB of native storage capacity, expanding to 540 TB with 2.5:1 compression. It achieves native data transfer rates of up to 400 MB/s (up to 1 GB/s compressed), enabling fast backup and restore operations. A standard bar code reader supports sequential or random access modes for operational flexibility.
Remote management is available through a user-friendly web-based interface, allowing monitoring and control from anywhere. Optional accessories such as rack mount kits, deskside covers, and additional magazines enable customized deployments. Compliant with LTO Ultrium standards, the autoloader supports media partitioning, self-describing tapes, and optional encryption for secure data handling.
