The IBM ECBY (feature code ECBY) is a 4-meter external SAS cable with HD Narrow (Mini-SAS HD SFF-8644) connector on the adapter/host side and standard Mini-SAS (SFF-8088) connector on the enclosure/target side. It supports full 6 Gb/s SAS bandwidth (up to 24 Gb/s aggregate across 4 lanes) for connecting internal SAS controllers or PCIe SAS HBAs in Power Systems servers to external SAS disk expansion drawers. The cable is fully shielded, flexible, and built for enterprise data center use with low signal loss over 4 meters. It is IBM-qualified for reliable operation with Power8, Power9, and select Power10 systems using supported SAS adapters and enclosures (EXP24S, EXP24SX, and legacy EXP24 models).
