It installs directly into compatible Power Systems chassis (primarily Power8 8286-42A high-density configurations and select Power9 models) and supports up to 18 × 2.5-inch SAS/SATA HDDs or SSDs in hot-plug SFF-3 carriers. The dual controllers provide redundant RAID protection (0/1/5/6/10), high throughput, and data integrity for boot, database, ERP, virtualization, and large-scale storage workloads. The 12 Gb/s SAS interface is backward compatible with 6 Gb/s and 3 Gb/s devices.
