The IBM 5592 is a PCI-X based 4-Disk Slot Expansion Controller designed to add four additional internal disk bays to compatible older Power Systems and iSeries servers. It provides Ultra320 SCSI connectivity for high-performance disk attachment, enabling expanded storage capacity and support for RAID configurations in legacy environments.
This controller is ideal for upgrading systems that have reached maximum internal disk limits on the base planar, allowing additional drives for increased capacity, better RAID protection, or improved performance in databases, file serving, and business-critical applications running on AIX or IBM i.
