IBM 5057 Storage Expansion Unit

IBM 5057 provides space for up to 16 disk units on the #5077 Migration Tower II. #5057 is shipped on new order #5077s when migrating from Models 640, S30, and 730, which do not have a #5055. When migrating from Models 640, S30, and 730, which have a #5055, the #5055 is converted to a #5057. Also provides space and controls for up to sixteen Ultra SCSI disk units on the system unit of Models 740, 650, S40. #5057 attaches to the Base I/O feature #9251. The configurator will specify #5057 as the first storage expansion unit if 16 or less disk units (not including the disk units allowed in the system unit) are required. You can override the configurator and specify #5052, #5058, or #5083 instead of #5057. If the number of disk units exceeds the 16 allowed in the #5057, the configurator will specify #5052, #5083, or #5058. When there is a choice, #5058 must be specified before #5052. Prerequisites: #9751 (Base MFIOP with RAID) or #9754 (Base MFIOP w/Compression). For models: 650, 740, 830, 840, S40.
