    Product Description

    This section focuses on field-proven, high-reliability tape drives that are no longer manufactured by IBM but remain in active use in many enterprise and midrange environments. Drives include LTO Ultrium (LTO-1 through LTO-4), DAT (DAT72, DAT160), SLR (SLR60), QIC/MLR formats, and half-high/full-high options for internal bays or external enclosures (7212-103, 3580, etc.). All drives are tested for compatibility with legacy Power servers, offering cost-effective replacements or expansions when new LTO-8/9 drives are not required. These solutions are perfect for maintaining existing backup workflows, reading older media, or extending the life of AS400/Power5/Power6/ systems.

    • Attachment: Internal SCSI backplanes, external SCSI adapters
    • Limitations: Older generation drives/media (reduced capacity/speed vs. LTO-8/9); requires matching HBA and cabling; limited or no support in Power7/Power11 (use newer drives); some formats are read-only for legacy media
